Warehouse & Co was founded by twin brothers Kenichi and Kenji Shiotani in Osaka, Japan, in 1995. The Warehouse & Co brand is the youngest member of the “Osaka 5,” a collective of artisans who revolutionized the Japanese denim industry. Dedicated to “the faithful reproduction of vintage clothing,” Warehouse clothes are inspired by the “Golden Age” of mid-century American garments. Beginning with their core Warehouse & Co. jeans, which painstakingly reimagine vintage American styles, the Warehouse & Co. t-shirts and sweatshirts are considered to be some of the best loop-wheeled knitwear on the market. Fits and Styles
The story of Warehouse & Co. begins with a denim obsession—much like Meadow! The magic of Warehouse & Co. jeans lies in their unique cuts and proprietary fabric. Lot. 1001xx is the original shape that launched the Warehouse brand, with a deep rise, full leg, and gentle taper reminiscent of vintage denim from the 1940s. Lot 1100 is another core Warehouse & Co. style, inspired by Levi’s 501 jeans from the 1960s, it has a tapered leg, comfortable mid-to-high rise cut, and lots of period-correct details. Warehouse & Co. is known for their flagship “banner” denim, a raw 13.4 oz indigo selvedge denim based on a vintage Levi’s sample from the 1930s. Warehouse & Co. also experiments with special techniques like laser washing and hand-sanding to create a worn-in feel. Check out their “second-hand” series jeans—12 ounces of soft vintage perfection.
