Since then, The North Face has continued to act as a driving force of product innovation and sustainability, creating styles that shape our popular culture and support the conservation of natural resources. Whether you are looking to outfit yourself for your next adventure or simply support an awesome brand, you can’t go wrong with The North Face.
The North Face was founded in 1966 by avid climber and outdoor enthusiast Doug Tompkins. Named for the north face of a mountain (the coldest and most challenging side to climb), the brand’s mission is to provide fellow hikers and climbers with the best outdoor equipment available. The North Face remains true to this mission, pioneering some of the most innovative outdoor products, including the first internal-frame backpack (The North Face “ruthsack”), the application of GORE-TEX® waterproof fabrics to The North Face ski jackets, and the introduction of “The Oval InTENTion,” a modern replacement for traditional A-frame tents that has since become an industry standard.
